Pack The Bag Pro App Reviews

I had been a huge fan of the free version of Pack the Bag, uploaded it to my old iPhone 3GS, and using it on a number of my trips to help me organize. I held off for a while before taking a chance on the pay version, wondering if I would not only like it better, but if it would be as flexible and efficient as the original. I had some extra iTunes gift dollars and decided to give it a go. Im only thankful the free version still exists. After several attempts for vacations last year, I gave up and returned to my tried and true. For one, the pay version appears more complicated than the first, which is ridiculous. Im big on categories and subcategories, and I was never sure if I was adding something to be packed later, or what was happening, as I seemed to be going thru way too many clicks to add one item. Even deletions were complicated due to swipe attempts which werent always successful. I liked the idea of being able to "pack" an object in a specific bag youre taking, but even this got frustrating. The only thing I did like was the weight section; when one has to be careful not to overpack due to baggage fees, etc. this was the one helpful benefit. After consulting the instructions numerous times, I finally contacted the designer by email AND even on Facebook, but despite their answers, I was never able to achieve their claims. In the end I removed the pay app and reinstalled the old one. It wasnt worth the trouble.

I used the previous version and was looking forward to the updated version but am disappointed. The layout is boring and less fun to work with than the previous edition. Looks like someone was in a hurry to finish and get it out for sale. OK as a base tool but a written note could do with this graphics. Hope they use more creativity next time.

Good idea, but looks like a bit buggy. Create pack and was not able to find it next day.

Useful and simple. Ive tried a number of packing lists and this is my favourite. Its easily customizable but also has an extensive list of common items to start from. The only major improvement would be to sync across devices without having to export to Dropbox first.

Very useful, flexible and helpful. Highly recommend it.

This is a great app. Being an event planner makes me a list maker. What I didnt like, was making my packing list in a spreadsheet or word processor then having to print it. Pack the Bag solves that problem. My list is as mobile as I am! Its also great that you can tweak the least to suit your needs.

Overall, this app is good and very helpful but could be great with a few added features. For example, the ability to create several typical lists such as business travel, international travel, etc. the second thing it could use is a way to make notes about specific items you want to bring for example not just list 5 shirts but have a way to note a description of the exact shirts you want to bring.

I use this app for every trip to make lists for me and my 2 boys. It is so nice to copy previous pack lists to make new ones. There are tons of items in the different categories, and you can add your own, too. (I just wish it was 2 steps easier to add them.) the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is that I have yet to figure out if I can hide or archive old lists. But overall, I love this app!

I upgraded and the new version is unusable. The old version was fine. I cant find check off lists that are practical.

The upgrade version is much more flexible in customized items and groups. The ICloud function works great between all my devices keep developing as this is a good app

Easy to use with preset list of packing essentials & simple to customize. I have packing list for carry-ons. My briefcase for the types of business trips and daily use. I used the list to effortlessly pack for a month on Tibet camping and a month house sitting. I even have my cosmetic bag inventoried with this app. It makes life easier and more organized.

Excellent packing app. Ive been using the basic version for a few years -- the pro version has added many new features -- makes packing for trips way less stressful as I know I will never forget something important.

I loved the version before this latest update. Now, it is too complex for me even to just mark all items on packed, which I still have not figured out how to do. The simplicity of the old one was much smoother for me. If I cannot figure out how to check or uncheck all items at once, I will likely switch to another app

Pack The Bag Pro is amazing (the free version too). It really makes it a breeze to plan in advance for your trip (business or vacations), especially for us Disney Vacation Club members, there is so much advance planning needed to ensure you make the best of it. This App helps me efficiently to not miss a step or forget to pack my items. Been using it for a few years. I really cant believe it got better. Thanks.

This used to be a great app! So helpful. Dont know what they have done with it or why but Ill probably be uninstalling it and finding something different.

...makes this app an also-ran. This is a nice app to work with, but without auto syncing across all my devices, it is completely worthless. Plus the ratings nag? Twice in two days now! Ive already rated this app. But then I get this ratings nag to rate it. So heres your rating. Hope you like the one star. Its three less than I originally gave. Dont ask us to rate you!

I absolutely hate the changes made to this app. It is now so difficult and confusing to use. It used to be so user friendly. I am definitely going to remove it from my apps

As a heavy traveler whos left too many things behind in the inevitable rush to pack Ive greatly appreciated this tools features. I like the ability to define different checklists based on trip type. To make it a 5 star app it needs: 1) a bit easier access to a consolidated, simple view of unpacked items (as opposed to the current nested list), and 2) move the "unpack all" button out from the Share/Action Button - even though Apple design guidelines drive the current behavior.
